1. Clean
Removing old layers of polish & removing dirt
To completely renovate your shoes its important to remove dirt and/or withered layers of polis. There are many cleaning products available to clean smooth leather with ranging from a mild cleaning lotion or a more thorough cleaner which dissolves shoe polish. For mild cleaning use Saphir Lotion and to remove old layers of polish use Saphir Reno'Mat or Saphir Saddle Soap.
2. Pre Shine
Renovating dried out leather & making your shoes more durable
After cleaning off the old layers of polish, or even if you've only cleaned off the dirt, openens the pores of the leather. The leather is now ready to absorb all sorts of oily goodness. We like to use Saphir Renovateur which contains all the needed oils combined in one jar.
3. Shine
Making them shine again & protecting them against the elements
To make your shoes shine like new you need a matte gloss shoe cream and, if desired, a high gloss shoe wax. To get your shoes to actually shine you need to use the proper techniques and products. Apply your polish of choice using a cotton cloth. Wait 5 minutes and then shine your shoes using a brush or cotton cloth. Most important is not to rush the process and put some elbow grease into it!
